The Procurement Policy advice and support role provides Government procurement advice and guidance to the departmental staff to ensure that DSS procurement activities are compliant with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs), and DSS Procurement Policy.
The procurement related reporting and analysis role includes preparing briefs and advice for senior executives and the Minister and lead ad-hoc procurement and contracts related reporting such as for Senate Estimates, Questions on Notice, and other internal and external reporting.
The key duties of the position include
- supervise the Procurement Helpdesk staff in day to day operations, and develop and manage a range of client relationships
- provide high level Procurement Policy advice and support to internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules
- provide Procurement ESSentials system (DSS's SAP based online procurement system) management, processing and support to DSS staff
- assist with procurement training, and the development and maintenance of procurement policies, templates and guidelines
- ensure business improvements and process tasks are completed within the required timeframes
- work as a member of a team, providing high level customer service to all areas of the department as well as to external queries
- assist with reporting tasks, including but not limited to Senate Estimates, Questions on Notice, and Senate Order enquiries for a range of stakeholders.
