About the role
As the Senior Procurement Specialist - SRM, you are integral to the success of V/Line’s Corporate Services Group.
You will foster mutually beneficial relationships with strategic contracted supply partners. You will help to deliver value for money, manage performance and risk, whilst maintaining a continuous improvement mindset.
Whilst this position sits within the broader SRM team, this role will focus predominantly on our Network Development Assets & Maintenance (NDAM) contracts.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Ensure compliance with the Supplier Relationship and Performance Framework, aligned with Victorian Government Procurement Board (VGPB) contract management guidelines.
- Evaluate contractor performance, determining the need for contract amendments or extensions while ensuring adherence to contractual obligations.
- Analyse and interpret contract provisions to achieve cost efficiencies and reductions where feasible.
- Facilitate contract management meetings with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Create presentations and board papers for the Procurement Oversight Committee (POC).
- Develop effective strategies to engage Aboriginal-owned, SME, and Regional suppliers, driving innovation with key partners.
- Support the development of procurement and contract management processes across V/Line, including training and coaching.
About you
You are a seasoned Procurement Specialist, who combines strategic thinking, strong negotiation skills, and cross-functional agility. Your strong written and verbal communication skills enable confident negotiation with both internal and external stakeholders.
In addition to this, our ideal candidate will possess:
- SRM Expertise: You’ve successfully managed supplier relationships, including leveraged contracts with high-value suppliers.
- Innovative Mindset: You identify opportunities for innovation and value creation during negotiations.
- Change Management: You adapt seamlessly to organizational shifts and support stakeholders through change.
- Contract Management Experience: Exposure to operational and/or industrial contract management.
- Government Experience (Desirable): Familiarity with VGPB guidelines and government SRM best practices.

Remuneration for this position will be in line with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2019 and determined in line with skills and experience.
