Randstad are partnering with one of Victoria's largest, well known State government departments to hire a Senior Procurement and Contracts Specialist on a temporary basis of 4 months + potential extension.The Role:The purpose of this newly created role is to work within the Corporate Procurement Branch to undertake procurement strategy development, as well as lead sourcing and contract management activities under 5 million for the goods category.Key Accountabilities:
- Prepare, manage, and process procurement documentation
- Negotiate contract KPIs and maintain supplier relationships
- Monitor expenditure and resolve issues promptly
- Define milestones and monitor supplier performance
- Develop procurement strategies and provide expert advice
- Ensure compliance with Departmental policy and VGPB framework
- Prepare procurement plans, reports, and briefings
- Develop and improve procurement policies and systems
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders effectively
- Demonstrated experience in Procurement and Contracts management and preferably category management in a public sector environment
- Experience in procuring goods in an operations environment
- Ability to work autonomously
- Influence and Negotiation: Uses persuasion and negotiation skills to influence key stakeholders
- Stakeholder management: Identifies issues in common for one or more stakeholders and uses to build mutually beneficial partnerships
