Atlas Iron is an Australian owned Iron Ore company, mining and exporting direct shipping ore from its operations in WA’s Pilbara Region. To support our expanding Operations, we are seeking applications for an outstanding professional to make a difference in our Finance team.

About the role

Reporting into the Manager Finance, the primary purpose of the Procurement Supervisor role is to ensure a high level of procurement support to the business and provide support and guidance to the Procurement Team, as required. Also be responsible for the management of the Felix Vendor Management system and be involved with strategic decision-making, supplier management, contract negotiation, and driving continuous improvement in procurement processes.

Main responsibilities of the role include:

• Develop and enforce procurement policies, ensuring regulatory compliance and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess needs, establish specifications, and select suppliers.
• Monitor and analyse procurement metrics providing reports and insights for decision-making.
• Engage with key stakeholders to understand requirements and guide procurement processes, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
• Foster positive relationships with stakeholders to promote effective communication and collaboration.
• Manage day to day procurement of goods and services including overseeing forecasting and order processes.
• Review processes and systems regularly and ensuring timely close-out of Supplier Purchase Orders Terms and Conditions.
• Develop and monitor key metrics and plans to meet targets.
• Manage an electronic Supplier management onboarding system.
• Ensure compliance with Contracts & Procurement Management System (CPMS) while identifying improvement opportunities in processes and procedures.
• Lead development and delivery of procurement strategies.
• Supervise and provide guidance to a team of procurement professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
• Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and support professional development opportunities for team members.
• Manage workload distribution, prioritise tasks, and ensure timely completion of procurement activities.
• Foster collaborative external relationships and negotiate favourable service conditions.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience as a Procurement Supervisor in a mining company or similar industry is desirable.
• An academic qualification in procurement, supply chain management, business or related discipline favourable.
• In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills for building relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
