We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our client as a Temporary Procurement Team Leader. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the Council's procurement, contract management, and related processes. This is a temporary position expected to last for six months.
Position Objectives:
- Effectively manage Council's procurement, contract management, and related processes.
- Provide high-level support and advice to the CEO, General Managers, Manager Financial Services, and Council business units on procurement, contract management, and related issues.
- Tertiary qualifications in commerce, business, management, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in procurement, contract management, or a related field.
- A comprehensive understanding of and ability to interpret procurement and contract management principles.
- Ability to lead a small team of professional staff.
- Ability to communicate confidently with staff at all levels.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills.
- Lead and manage the Procurement Team to ensure the effective delivery of procurement and contract management services.
- Provide expert advice to the CEO, General Managers, Manager Financial Services, and Council business units on procurement matters.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve Council's objectives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Lead and contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement and contract management processes.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and address procurement needs.
- Prepare and review procurement documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and apply procurement principles.
- Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation and management.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation and policies.
