The Opportunity 

As the Product and Process Trainer for Southern Region, you will provide high quality Product and sales process training to our Dealer network that directly supports building and developing improved Dealer capability via improved product knowledge and sales processes. 

Process training includes working with regional staff in shared dealer visits and implementing development plans via training and development strategies. Training sessions can be conducted at Dealerships, utilising Webinars or at a Regional Office in face to face and online formats. 

This role will facilitate training for Southern Region (VIC, TAS and SA) and will be based out of our Regional Office in Melbourne. 

About the Role 

  • Plan, develop, and deliver training for dealership staff, which would include face to face training (in dealership and from central location) and online training/webinar formats. 
  • Product training includes Value/Step Selling, 6 Position / H-Code Presentation, Selling Against Competition 
  • Process training includes Brand values, Technical, Sales and Selling skills, Understanding Customer Needs, Building Relationships, Telephone skills and Techniques, Test Drive Process, Vehicle Handover, Process e-Learning quizzes and Customer Follow Up
  • Sales Manager Support: ensure utilization of learning management platform and other available resources including CSI, Call Tracking, WildJar, Mystery Shop tools to measure performance and assist the Sales Manager develop a high performing team
  • Dealership Sales Staff Support: new starter support, utilisation of learning management platform and resources, training attendance and status reporting
  • Develop quarterly training plan that align with HMCA sales and marketing strategy and supports Regional General Manager’s regional plan.
  • Prepare appropriate training materials, develop instructional content, determine methodology, and coordinate the integration of HMCA systems
  • Conduct dealer training needs assessments to understand characteristics and skill levels of learners, the job setting to identify processes and tasks performed by staff
  • Track, report, and evaluate the effectiveness of training solutions and amend programs based on feedback
  • Assess Dealer training needs based on CSI and SSI Dealer outcomes, and regional team feedback. 
  • Effectively present new features and technology in new vehicles to Sales teams 
  • Conduct classroom or web-based training sessions using effective presentation skills, verbal communication skills and classroom management skills
  • Maintain high level of product knowledge (includes competitive data) and be a ‘go-to’ for specific Dealership inquiries

Administration of role

  • Coordinate training schedules, dates, and logistics as well as maintain all training systems and databases related to product training
  • Creation of quarterly regional dealer training plan each quarter, approved by Head of Training, and Regional General Manager
  • Completion of Dealer Contact Report after each in dealer training session, recording team achievements and highlight further development opportunities
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and teams for preparation of content and training materials
  • Ensure all content is aligned to and consistent with the Brand guidelines, plus sales and marketing strategies
  • Contribute to creation of product quizzes for the online training system
  • Ensure that the Learning Management System is updated with all training attendance by Dealership staff

About You 

Passionate > You have a passion for training and developing people and are passionate about growing your career in the automotive industry. 

Technical > You have 2+ years’ experience in a similar position with a Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment. 

Go Getter > You are influential, collaborative and a team player. You have great mentoring and coaching skills.

Influential > You are an effective communicator with strong influencing skills and can present training face-to-face and virtually. 

Experience > This role is well suited to an individual with previous sales experience ideally within Automotive. 

You must have a valid driver's license and be comfortable with interstate travel.
