Job description

Work options: Hybrid

Whilst we all enjoy working from home, we enjoy coming together as a team and working from the office for specific team planning activities, as well as bi-weekly for regular team days with the Technology and Enablement team.

Lead teams, master Agile methodologies and ensure seamless product integration. If you're collaborative, adaptable, and comms-savvy, join us at the forefront of digital innovation!

Why work with us?

Firstly, the perks are pretty amazing! We offer real flexibility (including remote work), ongoing learning and development including FREE Future Skills courses, AND an incredible environment to work in, both online and in the office!

But that's not all… There's a heck of a lot more perks that are going to blow your mind! Just ask!

Who is RMIT Online?

A subsidiary of RMIT University, RMIT Online provides world-class digital learning experiences leaning into the future of work. We are a passionate and nimble team dedicated to creating a ‘community of lifelong learners, successfully navigating the world of work.’

Teaming up with industry thought leaders and experts, we strive to deliver the best in structured, flexible online education using the latest digital tools and technologies. And we have fun along the way.

Let’s Talk About You.

Are you a visionary leader with a knack for turning product visions into actionable strategies? Do you prioritize like a pro, aligning tasks with business objectives like it's nobody's business? If so, we have just the gig for you!

As our Product Delivery Manager, you'll be the mastermind behind our digital product revolution. Leading high-performing teams, and fostering relationships with stakeholders will be your bread and butter. And let's not forget your superpower: navigating Agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban with finesse.

We need someone with a fun-loving spirit, who thrives on collaboration and has expert listening skills. After all, it's not just about getting the job done—it's about enjoying the journey with your teammates. When challenges rear their heads, fear not! Your problem-solving prowess will save the day, turning roadblocks into mere speed bumps. Plus, your communication skills will be the glue that holds our diverse team together, ensuring everyone's on the same page.

Got a degree in Computer Science or Information Technology? Check. Certifications like PMP or SAFE? Double check. Proficiency in tools like Jira and Confluence? Triple check. Managing relationships with executive teams? Navigating regulatory changes? If you've got those under your belt, you're golden.

Sounds great! Tell me about the role.

As the Product Delivery Manager, you'll be the conductor of our digital orchestra, overseeing product owners for Web & Marketing, Learning Technologies, and Salesforce. Your main gig? Managing improvements and initiatives across the entire technical product lifecycle, seamlessly integrating them into RMIT Online's digital ecosystem. You'll lead the charge in assessing and optimizing digital Product Delivery processes/tools to enhance efficiency, user experience, and stakeholder engagement.

But here's the twist: you won't just be leading from the sidelines. You'll be a core part of the technical leadership team, responsible for investing in the capabilities of our team. Working collaboratively across RMIT and RMIT Online, you'll tackle challenges head-on, balancing your product management and project management skills.

Stakeholder communication is key in this role. You'll be the maestro of effective communication, ensuring stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, and partners, are kept in the loop every step of the way. Collaboration will be your forte as you work closely with Digital Solutions, UI/UX teams, and key business users to define user flows and design enhancements. Establishing positive relationships with internal stakeholders will be crucial to driving successful Product Delivery.

Agile practices are the name of the game. You'll work hand in hand with the Head of Engineering to identify delivery dependencies of proposed technology solutions. As the Scrum Master for multiple cross-functional product teams (squads), you'll be the driving force behind removing impediments impacting the team's ability to deliver. Tracking progress, adjusting plans, and ensuring timely delivery will be second nature to you.

Analytics and insights will be your bread and butter. You'll develop in-depth analytics on product performance and process management, analysing data to support project requirements and decision-making. Staying informed about industry trends and regulatory changes affecting Product Delivery will be key to your success. And when it comes to metrics and analytics, you'll engage with the Head of Data and Insights to develop new requirements and insights.

Tell me about the team and a typical work week?

Our team culture is like a well-oiled machine—fuelled by collaboration, growth, and the occasional team lunch that's more feast with a lot of laughter, than a meeting. We've got our fortnightly face-to-face team huddles, where we hash out what's coming up and celebrate the wins—big or small.

And let's not forget about those exciting projects on the horizon; we're talking about future-proofing the business for 2025 and beyond! You'll be right in the thick of it, supported by our engineering and data wizards who make the tech magic happen.

Now, onto the nitty-gritty of your week...

Mondays kick off with our team check-in—think of it as our version of Monday morning therapy. We prioritize, plan, and maybe even indulge in a bit of risk management (cue dramatic music).

Tuesday and Wednesday are all about those scrum meetings and collaboration galore. You'll be rubbing elbows with the Head of Engineering, designers, UX researchers, and even the marketing mavens to ensure our product experience is smoother than a freshly paved highway.

By Thursday and Friday, it's time to dive deep into metrics and reporting. We'll be analyzing data like Sherlock Holmes on a case, refining documentation, and planning for the next sprint. It's all about dotting the i's and crossing the t's—because we're perfectionists like that.

Ticking your boxes? Here's how to apply!

Some might argue cover letters are irrelevant, however, we want to see if you're paying attention and have a good eye for detail - after all, that will be important in this role!

Send us your resume and a brief cover letter (not written by Chat GPT) telling us about:

  • How have you created value in your previous roles and really left your mark?
  • How have you created product road maps and how have they influenced the decisions with senior stakeholders?
  • Why do you want to work in online education?
  • Your favourite knock-knock joke!
