On a regular basis you’ll perform many of the following:

• Lead Design Meetings: Conduct regular design meetings with the design team.
• Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with product managers, engineers, content developers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, provide design insights, and ensure alignment across teams.
• Review Design Work: Review and provide feedback on design deliverables such as wireframes, prototypes, and mockups created by the design team.
• Manage Design Projects: Manage design projects from conception to delivery.
• Conduct User Research: Plan and conduct user research activities. 
• Create Design Assets: Develop design assets including wireframes, prototypes, user interface designs, and design specifications, using tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Iterate Designs: Iterate on design concepts based on feedback from stakeholders, user testing results, and evolving project requirements.
• Provide Design Direction: Provide clear design direction and guidance to the design team.
• Communicate Design Decisions: Communicate design decisions, rationale, and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.

On day one, we’ll expect you to have the following capabilities:

• Strategic Design Thinking: Apply strategic design thinking to align with company vision and goals, leveraging user insights, market trends, and competitor analysis to shape product strategies and roadmaps.
• User-Centric Design: Champion a user-centered design approach by conducting user research, usability testing, and persona development 
• Design Leadership: Lead and inspire the design team to create innovative and impactful design solutions
• Product Development Expertise: Utilise design methodologies to lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle
• Market Awareness & UX Research: Stay abreast of design trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in EdTech UX/UI design
• Data-Informed Design Decisions: Utilise data analysis to gather insights into user behaviour and measure the effectiveness of design solutions
• Design System Development: Establish and maintain a robust design system to ensure consistency and scalability across products, providing design guidelines, components, and patterns to streamline the design process and maintain brand integrity.
• Agile Design Practices: Implement Agile design methodologies to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.

What separates the best from the rest:

• Specific K-12 and/or education technology product experience
• You are excited about the prospect of hands on design work (This is not a purely management role)
• Experience with our product tech stack: Notion, Jira, Figma, Heap, Usersnap
