Role Objective
In this role, you will work closely with a Product Manager and a distributed development team to build high quality software. You will be working in a fast-paced environment with our product and design teams to produce quality enterprise solutions. You will be involved during the whole product lifecycle, from project research, scoping and ticketing, through to support the Development Team during the implementation & release phases.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain the product backlog, creating and refining epics and user stories that clearly explain the product requirements in a way that aligns with company standards.
Work closely with the Technology team and UI/UX design team to plan, monitor and manage delivery requirements for each sprint.
Ensure that the sprint backlog is prepared and prioritised before the start of the sprint.
Create briefs for UX/UI work required for upcoming user stories.
Be available to the development team to answer questions, liaising with the Product Manager as well.
Perform comprehensive testing of new products and services released or developed to ensure that requirements have been met.
Participate in agile ceremonies such as backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, demos and retros.
Support the scrum master in helping the team to continually improve ways of working and establish a sustainable delivery cadence.
Assist in the preparation of technical specification and user guides for the product.
Identify opportunities for product enhancements and new features, working with all stakeholders to understand and document the build requirements and delivery timeframes. This will require an understanding of the technology stack, infrastructure and IT development and delivery process.
Support new team members in learning the product.
Ensure all required reporting is accurate, timely and complete.
The role requires a deep level of consideration towards our customers and stakeholders as well as an ability to work with developers and the design team to find the balance between feasibility, speed-to-market, aesthetics and usability.
Required Qualifications/certifications (if applicable)
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate the following attributes and experience:
- Excellent English language skills in writing, verbal communication and comprehension.
- 7+ years experience as an agile Product Owner.
- Business analyst experience is critical.
- Experience in enterprise workforce management software highly regarded.
- Effective in contributing effectively towards the objectives of a team and in sharing knowledge, ideas, and information.
- Presentation skills.
- Bonus points for skills/experience in UX design, software development or software QA.
- Proven track record of delivering against project plans and tight schedules.
- Understanding and experience of BE, FE, UI/UX design principles.
- Experience in product development, analysis and/or preparation of product specifications.
- Hardworking with a strong work ethic.
