Product Specialist, Power Protection

Join us as Product Specialist - Power Protection for our Electrification Business Area where you will be supporting the Product Manager to optimize the offering portfolio and return on investment. Ensuring ABB has a full understanding of market requirements in a specific area and can transform these requirements into offering specifications and development activities. Performing various offering life cycle activities supporting development, launch, maintenance, pricing, and profitability. You'll be responsible to maintain effective customer relationships to understand customer needs, promote products and offerings, and align to provide a solution. Participating in the development plans and communication of product value propositions and product positioning in accordance with the local product marketing strategy. Reporting to Product Manager Power Protection and this position will be based in Australia.
Your responsibilities
- Following and understanding global and local standards, market and customer requirements and their impact on the offering portfolio
- Evaluating market size and trends, conducting competitor analyses including identification of offering gaps and evaluating the ABB position
- Ensuring technical solutions can be used across the Product Group's offering portfolio as far as is possible
- Collaborating with internal teams (i.e., Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Logistics) to ensure customer satisfaction. Supporting Power Protection channel partner accounts ensures their achievement with a structured follow up process
- Collaborating with the Sales Team to assist with strategic opportunities, coordinating the preparation of relevant materials and guidance. Assisting to prepare offers in coordination with the Product Manager and Sales Team with the support of tendering resources
- Managing administrative procedures in sales, processes, and supports collection and project management activities when needed
- Communicating key technical details in accordance with ABB offering and strategy (technical compliance & deviations, manufacture & delivery time)
- Collaborating with Sales & Marketing teams to define marketing plans to promote sales activities. Delivering new offering training to internal teams, channel partners, and customers. Supporting the Product Manager with technical training programs
- Proposing new offering development or offering enhancements in order to offer suitable and unique solutions to customer needs. Contributing to the definition of new offering technical characteristics by providing specific expertise
Your background
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field - Electrical Engineering degree is strongly desired
- Knowledge - Experience in power electronics would be beneficial
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint), Salesforce.com
- Proficient communication skills towards both external and internal customer
