About the job
Reporting to the Team Leader – Planning and Outage Management, the Production and Treatment Scheduler plays a vital role in strategically devising, coordinating, and delegating comprehensive work plans for the execution of Production and Treatment plant operations. With a primary emphasis on water treatment plants, the role occasionally involves crossover responsibilities with wastewater treatment plants. The incumbent is responsible for delivering a highly efficient scheduling service, optimizing resource allocation to maximize productivity and effectiveness for the Production and Treatment team.
In addition, your responsibilities will include:
- Deliver a highly efficient scheduling service for the Production and Treatment team, optimizing resource allocation to maximize productivity and effectiveness.
- Deliver a responsive work order provision service that aligns with quality and compliance requirements and valued by all work groups.
- Acquire essential job resources as needed by work groups, encompassing, but not limited to: information, plans, personnel, inventory, and contractors.
- Collaborate effectively with Treatment Coordinators and Treatment Managers in planning, scheduling, and executing follow-up activities related to reactive work.
- Promote and engage in a culture of accountability by actively participating in ongoing performance dialogues, being receptive to coaching and feedback for personal growth, and contributing to the improvement of operational efficiency.
Your success in this role will come from:
- Tertiary qualification in business administration and/or equivalent experience.
- Effective planning skills and demonstrated understanding of Works Management Systems, dispatch tools, as well as the ability to accurately record, manage and analyse data electronically.
- Strong customer focus and a knowledge of regulatory standards that is supported by effective communication skills and service delivery orientation.
- Ability to work autonomously and maintain very high service delivery and quality standards.
- Strong IT literacy and ability to learn and apply new business applications.
- Knowledge of water and wastewater networks and their operations to analyse and prioritise problems.
