Production Manufacturing Manaer

Blackbird Industries is a family-owned building company located in the Limestone Coast of South Australia, providing commercial & industrial buildings, sheds and garages. A full time position has become available for an experienced production manager to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and organizing the day to day management of our factory. This includes the planning of manufacturing activity as it relates to safety, output, cost, labour, materials & plant.

Duties for this position include but are not limited to:

• Leading our workforce to ensure the maintenance of a safe working environment for all
• Managing our production team to ensure BB production targets are achieved
• Manage and implement manufacturing methods that improve performance and customer satisfaction
• Ensure manufactured product meets quality and specification requirements
• Prepare production reports as agreed and required by management
• Manage the recruitment of factory staff to ensure alignment with production requirements
• Assist in the implementation and management of continual improvement projects
• Support the general manager in the ongoing development of the business plan and forecasting

Qualification and skills requirement

• Bachelor Degree or higher education
• 2+ years of work experience as a production manager or supervisor, preferably in the steel framing industry
• Ability to lead and manage a large team
• Understanding of commercial construction methods
• Be up to date with all W H & S standards and requirements
• Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively liaise with all stakeholders of the business
• Team player that gets along well with colleagues and can build rapport
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and time frame requirements of the business
