Role Overview
Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, the Daily Scheduler is responsible for developing the short-term product movement, haulage and shipping plans. This position coordinates production and material movement planning through advanced data management, effective communication and working closely with other departments to resolve short term supply chain issues.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate and maintain a high standard of personal safety, safety leadership and a commitment to the safety of fellow workers
- Ensure compliance to individual and team safety KPI’s set by management
- Timely delivery of 24 hour Mine Plans
- Compile applicable ship builds in line with sales targets across all short term planning horizons
- Communication of product movement plans and ship builds to operation, offsite supply-chain and corporate stakeholders
- Scenario analysis to optimise scheduling and grade outcomes
- Compile conformance to plan reports and communicate to relevant stakeholders
- Data synthesis to obtain accurate and relevant planning inputs
- Maintain the production accounting system data
- End of period data collation
- Improve performance of systems and data including site’s Fleet Management System
- Contribute to the mine planning process across the short term horizon’s
- Contribute to investigations for non-conformances impacting the timely delivery of expected cargo specifications
- Business improvement projects to unlock unrealised value
- Reduce costs aligned with position responsibilities
Requirements
- Tertiary Qualification in Geology, Mining Engineering or similar
- 2-5 years of experience in geology or mine design, scheduling and planning in an open pit mining environment
- Experience with mine planning and design software packages (Surpac and Alastri advantageous)
- Experience in Fleet Management Systems highly regarded but not essential
- Ability to prioritise workloads to meet targets
- Agile problem solver
