Position Overview
This is a unique long-term opportunity for a passionate Operations/Production Manager to join our small and motivated team as the business expands. This is a multi-faceted role and would suit a take-charge type person, with a background in fashion.
As part of our executive team, the position will be responsible for overseeing all operational business functions to ensure alignment with production timelines, whilst developing and implementing initiatives focused on increasing operational efficiency.
You will be highly motivated, passionate, and connected to the brand’s long-term vision and strategy. You will analyse brand positioning, consumer insights and sales figures to execute product strategy and roadmap continued local and international omni-channel growth.
You will broadly oversee the end-to-end operations of Product & Design, Production, Supply Chain, Wholesale, Warehouse and Communications.
This role would be suitable for part time (3-4 days for the right candidate) and also for a full time position too.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage master production schedule – adjusting as required, and ensuring all departments are meeting timeframes and deliverables
- Manage and nurture supply chain & supplier relationships – contributing to sustainability objectives
- Liaise between departments, supporting wider employee performance & ensuring productivity is high and creativity is nurtured and encouraged
- Coordinate with various departments, including design, procurement, and quality control, to ensure seamless production operations.
- Monitor production costs and budgetary constraints, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Maintain raw material levels and procurement schedules to meet production demands and minimise shortages.
- Manage and nurture wholesale / distribution relationships and identify opportunities for growth
- Manage and review operating procedures, systems and tools across the business – including third party systems providers, optimising and streamlining for operational efficiency
- Work with other members of executive team to ensure budgets are set and met across all departments
- Forecast staffing, workload and performance results to meet business goals
- Assist in the management of the warehouse and logistics
- Oversee customer care and retail to ensure delivery of an elevated customer experience
- Provide detailed reporting and analysis to inform business decisions and identify growth opportunities
- Ensure all branding and messaging is keeping with brand identity and voice
Experience, Skills and Knowledge
- 5+ years experience in a similar role is highly regarded, ideally within a fashion brand
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills, with a focus on achieving results and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
- Understanding of brand aesthetic
- Business qualifications at degree level highly regarded
- Must be detail oriented and highly organised
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and energetic, with ability to adapt and collaborate and take charge when needed
- Previous experience in ensuring IT compliance and overall systems integration highly regarded
- IT skills including Excel, NuOrder/Joor, Shopify highly regarded
- Experience supporting a business through a growth phase
