ABOUT YWCA AUSTRALIA

We are a proudly feminist not-for-profit organisation and for over 140 years we have been working at the forefront of gender equality through our housing, community programs and advocacy. Our five-year plan has a focus on making young women’s leadership and women’s housing our priority for gender equity in Australia. This will ensure we continue to deliver measurable and meaningful impact towards a future where gender equality is a reality.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

YWCA Australia is currently seeking a dedicated Program Facilitator to join our Amplifying Voices team in our Darwin office. This is a part time (3 days per week) role on a maximum term contract ending on 30 June 2025.

The role is responsible for the implementation of the lived experience led domestic and family violence prevention program called Amplifying Voices by:

  • Coordinating and delivering participant-designed leadership and advocacy programs
  • Facilitating the co-design and delivery of CALD and First Nations programs in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Coordinating the screening process for participants of the program
  • Supporting the participation of individuals and groups by identifying participant needs, making referrals, facilitating reflection and debriefing with individuals

ABOUT YOU

The ideal applicant will have:

  • Degree level qualifications in social and community services, health promotion or similar
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and experience working with domestic, family and sexual violence as well as an ability to ensure the safety of victim survivors
  • Knowledge of intersect between domestic and family violence and homelessness and housing risk
  • Highly developed understanding of primary prevention theory and practice
  • Experience and confidence in strategic advocacy and lobbying for systems change

This position will require the applicant to satisfactorily meet our pre-employment requirements.  This includes:

  • A valid relevant state-based working with children permit.

Don’t meet every single requirement? At YWCA Australia we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace.  If this role speaks to you but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly, we encourage you to apply anyway.

Please connect with us at any time during the recruitment process if you require assistance to fully participate.

 APPLICATIONS CLOSE: 25 March 2024.

We will be reviewing candidates as they apply, strong candidates will be notified as their applications are received.
