Working as part of the Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS) team, as the Program Manager (AODN), you will play a crucial leadership role in the development and management of our next-generation web-based data management and discovery systems. You’ll work closely with the AODN Director and IMOS Executive to provide strategic leadership to contribute to the ongoing growth and evolution of the AODN. Day to day, you will work closely with product managers to coordinate across the portfolio of our software solutions. You’ll establish and manage outsource services and associated risks and engage with a wide range of key industry stakeholders. This role will see you deeply involved with exciting new developments that will provide a step change advancement in the way the marine science community, industry, and other users access data to derive environmental, economic, and social benefits.

What you will need to succeed
You’ll have previous experience managing software product programs or portfolios and have a deep understanding of product roadmaps, release strategies, and leading high performing agile software teams. You utilise your adaptive engagement skills to communicate with a wide and diverse range of stakeholders (e.g. data providers, expert, and non-expert data users) to achieve project/program objectives. The ability to produce new ideas and develop novel solutions comes easily to you and you’re able apply theories and concepts to form strategies and navigate future trends. You’re a people centric leader, who leads by example to inspire teams to achieve successful outcomes.

IMOS is a national collaborative research infrastructure, supported by the Australian Government. It is operated as an unincorporated joint venture (UJV), with the University of Tasmania as Lead Agent. http://imos.org.au/ IMOS provides a national, multi-institutional capability to undertake systematic and sustained observing of the marine environment, from the open ocean onto the continental shelf and into the coast, and across physical, chemical and biological variables. IMOS is implemented through a national portfolio of over 60 platform and technology-based Facilities.
The Australian Ocean Data Network (AODN) is responsible for the management of IMOS data and provides open online access to these data.
