Shape WA's energy future and enjoy a career you can be proud of

It's an exciting time to work in the energy industry, with extensive opportunities for long-term personal and professional growth.

As we deliver energy solutions across the largest geographical area of any Australian power provider, we listen to and work with our communities, our customers and our team. We're responding to the challenges presented by a changing climate and leading the transition to a low carbon, renewable energy future.

We're privileged to work with, live alongside and respect the culture of First Nations peoples who first understood the energy of this land.

Program Manager
Joining our team means you'll be part of something that really matters. As our Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of multiple Future Generation projects that support Horizon Power's objective to decarbonise its electricity systems and enable opportunities for aboriginal participation in the green energy transition.

Key initiatives are likely to include the deployment of standalone power systems and hybrid renewable options in remote and logistically challenging environments. The role will require a strong stakeholder focus, with the support of traditional owner and community groups critical to the success of projects and longevity of solutions delivered.

This is a Max Term 18-month contract full-time position and can be located at Bentley or any of our regional offices in WA.

Your role will include:

  • Managing the development of business case/s, project scope, work deliverables, budgets, and schedules for identified initiatives in line with the projects defined.
  • Identifying and effectively manage project risks and issues throughout the project or program lifecycle.
  • Managing the delivery of multiple projects within agreed quality, time, and cost objectives.
  • Safety leadership and management throughout all project stages in alignment with HP's SHMS.
  • Project design, structuring, financing, and concept support from various stakeholders.
  • Land options analysis and assembly, including identification of relevant sites, engagement with relevant parties, environmental, heritage and negotiation of legal arrangements for land use.

You will have:

  • Mandatory formal Project Management Certification or equivalent experience.
  • WA Drivers Licence Class "C" or "C-A".
  • Awareness and respect of the diversity of First Nations cultures across WA.
  • Significant experience in the successful delivery of programs/projects.
  • Experience developing and delivering submissions to the Executive Management Team and Board.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering to approved scope, budget, and schedule.

Our employees enjoy real rewards and recognition including:

  • Working on impressive renewable energy projects across WA.
  • Helping to create a connected and thriving WA.
  • An extensive rewards and recognition program.
  • Access to our award-winning health and wellbeing program.
  • Flexible working arrangements.

Our workplace culture is created through every interaction, every experience and everything we do.

Across our organisation, we recognise and reward people and offer work that works with you. We're committed to equality and celebrate the diversity of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, and all characteristics that make our Horizon Power team so special. We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
