Kiara College is seeking a committed and effective leader to join our Student Services Leadership team in the role of Program Coordinator. We are seeking an individual who inspires passion for learning in others, with a strong focus on pastoral care.The successful applicant will ideally have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work collaboratively with all members of the Pastoral Care team to support the health and wellbeing of students.The Program Coordinator - Student Services, will be responsible for the behaviour, attendance, and social/emotional wellbeing of our students. The successful applicant will preferably have knowledge of the Positive Behaviour in Schools framework and a growth mind-set should be evident in their communications with students, parents, and staff.The successful applicant should collaborate effectively with the School Executive Team to plan, implement, and monitor all student wellbeing programs using data to inform strategic planning.The Program CoordinatorStudent Services should lead the Student Services team to work collaboratively with Heads of Learning Area (HOLA’s) and teaching staff to enhance student engagement to ensure high educational outcomes for all students and promote a whole-school culture and a sense of belonging. They should establish and manage administrative and operational systems in the relevant areas of responsibility to deliver effective school operations within legislative and industrial policy guidelines. The successful applicant will play a significant role in the daily management of staff and student wellbeing. An understanding of a restorative approach to conflict would be desirable, as would an ability to apply their knowledge to broker the best outcomes for students through their highly effective case management skills.The successful applicant will ideally have the ability to promote a positive whole-school culture, and a sense of belonging. They should work to promote positive educational outcomes of all students including those with diverse and identified learning needs.Kiara College is a vibrant learning community located on the western edge of the Swan Valley. Catering for Years 7-12, students can follow an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank, General or Vocational Education and Training pathways, preparing them for university entry, TAFE or the workplace. We have a diverse student population with nearly 30% of our students identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.   • Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings;
  • High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
  • Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
  • Capacity to manage physical and financial resources.

  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
