About the JTYouGotThis Program:
JTYouGotThis Program is an early intervention program for at-risk youth. The program develops foundational skills for change, with a primary focus on self-efficacy (confidence, courage, and self-belief) to reduce re-offending behaviour through supported and increased family cultural, community and prosocial connection.
About the role:
Reporting to the Lead Program Facilitator, the Johnathan Thurston Academy are seeking a dynamic, delivery and outcome focused Programs Support Officer to assist the Lead Program Facilitator in the delivery of the JTYouGotThis Program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and assist the Lead Program Facilitator with the coordination and delivery of the JTYouGotThis Program.
- Adhere to the Johnathan Thurston Academy policies, procedures and workplace health and safety requirements whilst on program.
- Prepare program space prior to each session.
- Behaviour management.
- Participate in staff debrief at the end of each session and assist with pack-up.
- Coordinate the meet and greet for families and young people to discuss the program.
- Coordinate the safe transfer of young people from the program pick up point to the program drop off point.
- Regularly participate in program activities.
- Build strong relationships with participants, their families, and cultural support networks.
- Use initiative to solve any issue that could impede on the success of the program.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team, including a range of internal and external stakeholders, to achieve positive outcomes for at risk young people and their families.
- Undertake record keeping, data and information management tasks on organisational platforms and systems to ensure accountability.
- Model pro-social behaviour, attitudes, and values.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Drivers' license: it is a mandatory requirement for the occupant of this position to hold a driver's license. Staff are required to drive company vehicles as a part of their day-to-day work.
- Blue card: this role provides support services to children and young people and therefore will require a valid Blue Card with the organisation.
