ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This role will see you supporting horticultural growers through the onboarding and training pathway to achieve Fair Farms Certification, the only Australian Horticulture Social Compliance Scheme.

The Fair Farms Program Support Officer is responsible for providing administrative and compliance expertise, support, and services that contribute to the successful operation of the Fair Farms program across Australia, and to act in an administrative and technical capacity, working to maintain the integrity of the program and its components. The Program Support Officer also provides monitoring and advisory services to ensure alignment and compliance to the appropriate rules, regulations and legislation.

As part of the Fair Farms team, the Program Support Officer will provide professional, responsive and considered services to internal and external requests and will be an integral part of contributing to the positive outcomes achieved by the Fair Farms participants.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for someone with an eye for detail, who likes to ensure that systems, documentation, procedures, and processes are all being followed correctly, and within the required timeframes. Your work colleagues will describe you as having an innate ability to spot discrepancies, find efficiencies, and enjoy process improvements. You pride yourself on your personal drive and motivation and enjoy being an integral part of a team, providing support and solutions for both internal and external colleagues. With a demonstrated track record of working collaboratively and achieving desired outcomes you also have an ability to efficiently manage competing priorities. 

Ideally you will have: 

  • An understanding of Certification, Accreditation, Standards, or Third-party auditing frameworks
  • Experience in process improvement
  • Proficient in MS Office 365 with intermediate to high Excel skills
  • Ability to quickly learn and effectively utilise new software and programs 
  • Experience compiling data and submission of regulatory reporting
  • Experience collating data for internal and external reporting needs as and when required
  • Qualifications in Business, Horticulture/Agriculture/Agribusiness, Compliance/Auditing or another related field
  • An understanding of the Australian agriculture and horticulture industries will be highly regarded
  • Previous experience of assurance/certification systems is highly desirable
  • Previous experience as a systems compliance officer is highly desirable

Fair Farms is developed and delivered by Growcom a division of Queensland Fruit & Vegetable Growers Ltd, the peak industry body representing Queensland fruit, vegetable and nut growers. The program is funded by the Federal Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. 

The Fair Farms program is underpinned by the Fair Work Act, Modern Slavery Act and WHS regulations to ensure a robust and rigorous framework to assist employers easily identify, understand, and meet their Employer obligations.

We also pride ourselves on the Program being underpinned by the foundations of ETI Base Code, and the International Labour Organisation Conventions.
