About the role
This role provides administrative and program management support to the Metro North Emergency Management and Business Continuity (EMBC) unit.
About the unit
The EMBC unit is responsible for leading and managing the development and maintenance of HHS-wide, system level, disaster, emergency and Business Continuity management arrangements, plans, exercises and training to ensure a capability to prepare for, respond to and recover from emergency and disaster events. This function also includes the coordination of HHS-wide arrangements for counter terrorism and major events. Officers within this team are specialists who are required to: develop and maintain strong relationships with senior executives; provide strategic and technical advice related to Emergency Management, counter terrorism and Business Continuity; work directly with high level internal and whole-of-government stakeholders across all levels of government; and represent the HHS in a number of high level and politically sensitive groups, committees and forums.
About you
Whilst not mandatory, our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Proficiency in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, databases and Outlook diary management systems would be well regarded.
- Project and program management experience and/or qualifications.
- Understanding of Queensland disaster management arrangements / Queensland Health emergency and disaster management arrangements
- Experience within Business Continuity, risk Management andEmergency Management disciplines.
