Adelaide Festival Centre operates four theatres in the Adelaide CBD – the Festival Theatre, Dunstan Playhouse, Space Theatre and the newly redeveloped Her Majesty’s Theatre.
About the vacancy
Adelaide Festival Centre is looking for an ambitious programming professional to help coordinate delivery of the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, passionate and have an enthusiasm for working in the arts industry.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Programming - Commercial, this position’s key responsibility is to develop, implement and maintain schedules, systems and operating procedures to ensure the effective delivery of the festival, including creating and maintaining databases, artist itineraries, artist rehearsal schedules and travel and accommodation. In addition to festival delivery, the role is integral to the delivery of the Class of Cabaret program; a SACE accredited program for high school students with performance outcomes.
In order to succeed in this role, you will have demonstrated experience working in a festival or major event environment, have sound project coordination skills, the ability to communicate effectively and be extremely organised. Previous experience liaising with artists, companies and agents will be highly considered.
This role is available in a full-time capacity for a period of three years in the first instance.
Competencies and Skills
  • Experience working in a festival or major event environment
  • Sound organisational skills and attention to detail to ensure that large amounts of information are managed effectively
  • Sound project coordination skills
  • Sound experience in travel planning and logistics
  • Ability to work within budgets
  • Sound administrative skills and a systematic approach towards including computer literacy in Word and Excel, and computer databases
  • Excellent time management skills and proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and seek clarification and assistance when necessary
  • An ability to operate with initiative and at times work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An interest in working with young people and a valid Working with Children Check
