Since 2005, the Sydney Institute of Marine Science (SIMS) has been one of Australia's leading marine research facilities. We support research through our university partners across all aspects of marine science, with a particular focus on marine conservation and restoration programs. Our diverse research programs range from restoring natural ecosystems in Sydney and other harbours around the world to deploying marine observing infrastructure that spans Australia and extends from the Indo-Pacific to the Macquarie Islands and Antarctica.

Hey there! Are you a marine science enthusiast who's ready to make waves? SIMS is on the lookout for a unicorn—a versatile Project Manager/Coordinator who's excited to dive into a range of initiatives. From digital transformation and new program rollouts to managing commercial projects, you'll be at the heart of our operations, coordinating with our brilliant scientists and ensuring everything runs smoothly. Plus, you'll own our communications—think social media, newsletters, media engagement, and community outreach!

• Coordinate and manage multiple projects, ensuring seamless teamwork
• Handle project timelines, budgets, and deliverables like a pro

• Education: You have a degree in marine science, general science, or equivalent. Bonus points for project management certifications!
• Experienced: You’ve got a knack for managing complex projects and leading diverse teams. You've managed high impact social media channels
• Organised: Your organisational and planning skills are top-notch.
• Communicator: You can talk to anyone and make complex ideas simple.
