Central Coast Council is the third largest water utility (or water and sewage service) in NSW servicing 139,000 homes and businesses in a growing region.

 

The role of Project Engineer is responsible for providing timely, cost effective and reliable delivery of water supply and sewerage operations, maintenance and project activities in accordance with set performance and quality standards.

You will be responsible for the full range of water and waste water functions, including the detailed preparation of capital works programmes, implementation of specific projects, asset monitoring and reporting functions.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key activities of this role include:

  • Undertake options analysis for the renewal, upgrade and provision of new assets considering financial and non-financial criteria
  • Prepare, manage and update management documents, including asset management plans, maintenance plans, risk management plans, business plans, service level agreements and project delivery plans
  • Undertake implementation, development and delivery of annual capital works programs and projects
  • Participate in project teams for the delivery of water and wastewater operations activities, and directly manage the development and delivery of capital works projects
  • On a project basis, lead small teams on the investigation, design and delivery of specific capital works projects

This role provides a commencing salary range of between $85.8k to $102.9k per annum dependent on skills and experience (inclusive of 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance) + 11% superannuation.

A leaseback vehicle is provided in this role for official duties and private use and your choice of vehicle will be provided when one becomes available in accordance with Council’s Vehicle Policy. In the meantime, either an alternate pre-used vehicle or a vehicle allowance of $200 per week ($10,450 per annum) is temporarily applied for this position due to ongoing issues with supply for new vehicles.

A 9 day fortnight work-cycle currently applies to this role with flexible/hybrid working arrangements available.

Successful candidates may be required to undertake a course of vaccinations against Hepatitis A and B or demonstrate their immunity.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to undertake and pass a Confined Spaces medical.
