We're currently looking for a Project Engineer with structures experience to bolster our delivery team. Initially based out of Collingwood but moving to Watsonia you will join an established team and be part of a mixture of structures, earthworks and civils packages that make up the M80 ring road project.
Scope
- 6 bridges (3 integral road bridges, 2 simply supported multi-span road bridges and 1 simply supported pedestrian bridge).
- Mix of post-tensioned and pre-tensioned structural elements.
- Bored pile foundations.
- Pre-cast retaining walls.
- Transform the existing underpasses.
The Project
AMA (Acciona, MACA, AECOM) has been selected as the preferred bidder for the Ring Road Completion, part of the North East Link Project. This covers design and construction between the M80-Plenty Road interchange and the northern tunnel entrance at Watsonia. Works include three kilometres of new freeway, two kilometres of new freeway upgrades, construction of retaining walls and bridge structures, rail interface works, intelligent transport systems, and urban design and landscaping. This diverse and challenging project will be complete in 2028.
Responsibilities
- Day to day management of project construction activities for the rail scope of work
- Monitor and report the performance of the workforce and subcontractors on site to ensure technical, program, quality, environmental, industrial relations, safety and commercial obligations are achieved and maintained.
- Plan and procure appropriate resources to fulfil program requirements (plant, labour, materials and subcontractor requirements)
- Identify and support supervisor with coordination of trades and subcontractors.
- Plan, manage and implement the site establishment activities necessary to ensure all site specific and contract requirements are met in terms of location, fencing, signage, environmental and traffic conditions.
- Identification, analysis and mitigation of potential risk events including establishment of risk register and initiation of corrective action when required
- Manage changes to scope, deliverables, schedule and budget
- Analyse variance, trends, risks and opportunities, key business drivers and sensitivities, highlighting significant operational performance issues to management
Required Skills and Competencies
Bachelor of Engineering degree or similar
At least 5 years of experience in a similar role in the civil construction industry
Demonstrated extensive experience in structures based infrastructure projects
Experience in subcontractor management and self perform projects
