Form of workNQM Gold 2 is an Australian gold explorer, developer and producer. Since 2009, NQM Gold 2 has developed, and operated assets spread throughout Western Australia and Queensland. NQM is experiencing a period of exciting growth at our Pajingo Gold Operation, located South-west of Townsville, Queensland. As a result, we are seeking an experienced Exploration Geologist to join a high-performing, technical team.
About the role
The Exploration Geology team is responsible for the management, collection and interpretation of geological data, in support of the exploration strategy for our Pajingo asset. As an Exploration Geologist working within this team, your remit will include such activities as interpreting & validating geo-data in support of target definition, working with technicians and managing program works to ensure safe working environments, assist with government mandated reporting routines and monitoring activities to ensure compliance with statutory, cultural heritage and regulatory requirements.
About you
The successful candidate will be degree qualified in a Geology or Earth Science discipline and ideally have up to 4-5 years experience as an Exploration Geologist, be experienced in exploration field work. Technical proficiency with MapInfo, Micromine, or Leapfrog would be considered favourably, as would a working knowledge of exploration standards and regulations, and experience working with both surface and underground diamond drilling contractors. You must also be able to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team where required. Self-driven candidates, with a natural desire to upskill and experience all aspects of Geology at a broad scale, are best aligned with the capabilities and culture of the team.
