POSITION: Project Geologist - Operations
WORK LOCATION: Bronzewing
ROSTER: 8 days on, 6 days off - FIFO ex Perth
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Act in a team leader type role to provide mentoring, coaching and support, to ensure ongoing professional development and the achievement of a positive workplace culture that reflects NSR's Values.
- Provide training and mentorship for Mine Geologists, Graduates and Technicians, ensuring their knowledge base increases and provides succession planning for the Grade Control area.
- Communicate on a daily basis with all production teams, and delegate daily tasks to ensure daily production plans can be delivered.
- Coordinate the design, schedule and oversee drilling programs to ensure the provision of timely and accurate data for analysis. Ensure data quality and interpretation, and provide recommendations for future work programs on the basis of results.
- Facilitate the ore extraction process to ensure the mine plan is correctly followed and minimise the risk of ore dilution and maximise recovery.
- Assist with month end reporting.
- Supervise drill contractors, including adherence to all relevant environmental, safety and security measures.
- Oversee the analysis, interpretation and modelling of geological data. Contribute to mine planning reviews to communicate relevant geological data.
- Contribute to geological logging and the instruction of Geology Technicians in sample preparation in accordance with current Standard Operation Procedures.
- Under the guidance of the Senior Geologists, actively participate in identification and implementation of projects that demonstrates working in an environment of continuous improvement.
TO THRIVE IN THIS ROLE, YOU'LL NEED:
YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
- Tertiary qualifications in Geology.
- Minimum four (4) years' geology experience in a mining environment and a minimum of two (2) years' geology experience in open pit.
- Experience with Datamine, Leapfrog, or equivalent programs.
- Good level of people management skills.
- Western Australian "C" Class Drivers Licence.
