Project Hydrogeologist with a passion for people and leading teams to success. You will lead and support a team of Hydrogeologists and Field Technicians in the planning and execution of various water well drilling projects. The position requires excellent communication, time management and technical skills to ensure robust hydrogeological assessments are completed on time and are effectively communicated to stakeholders.This is a position in a forward thinking and values-based organisation with a strong focus on building an inclusive team culture.
Key Responsibilities- Safe and effective leadership of a team including the coaching, mentoring and development of all whilst providing visible positive leadership through the demonstration of safe behaviours
- Responsible for co-ordination with onsite stakeholders and overseeing all ongoing collection of hydrogeological data with the provision of QA/AC on this information
- Provide feedback to Senior Hydrogeologist regarding contractor management and site conditions to enable effective scheduling and budgeting
- Conduct Field Recon reports, submission of LUC applications and assist in POW reviews
- Planning of project short term implementation alongside the review and issue of scope of work instructions
- Supervision of earthworks, drill rig and pump testing
- Oversee ordering and control of bore construction materials
- Investigate and close out any incidents or actions related to Hydro drilling workspace
Qualifications and Experience- A degree or an equivalent tertiary qualification in Engineering Geology, Hydrogeology or Geosciences with relevant working experience in Hydrogeology
- MSc in Hydrogeology preferred
- Experience in mine water management and water bore drilling within an open pit mining environment
- Knowledge of hydrogeological modelling, monitoring analysis, interpretation and reporting
- Experience in LUC and POW process.
- Competent use of hydrogeological software packages alongside strong data management and manipulation skills
- Highly developed communication & time management skills
- Strong team leadership skills with a passion for coaching and people development
