About Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA)
APNA is the peak body for nurses working in primary health care. APNA defines primary health care nurses as those who practice outside of hospital environments.
APNA champions the role of primary health care nurses through several offerings including professional recognition, education, workforce sustainability initiatives, advocacy, student placements, leadership development, and optimising the role of primary health care nurses in team based, patient-centred care.
APNA's vision is a healthy Australia through best practice primary health care nursing.
About the Role
APNA and RDNSW are currently seeking a Project Lead to deliver the Student Nurse Rural Placement (SNRP) project that aims to increase the attractiveness of pursuing rural primary care nursing careers for students through exposure to rural primary health practice. This position is responsible to manage the design, planning, implementation, and evaluation of SNRP that is jointly sponsored and governed by RDN and APNA.
The Project Lead will be responsible to:
Manage the delivery of the project including planning, implementing, and evaluation
Engage with stakeholders including
Students participating on placements
Services hosting students including GP practices and nurse supervisors
Universities and TAFEs
Increase quality primary health placements available for nurse students in NSW and their uptake
Coordinate project with other relevant programs and initiatives
Pursue opportunities to extend and expand program for the long term
Explore opportunities to create and publish evidence.
Skills & Experience
Experience in managing projects throughout their lifecycle
Experience collaborating with internal / external teams and stakeholders
Experience or knowledge of primary health care nursing, education and career pathway
Demonstrated ability to lead change in an evolving organisation and influence stakeholder behaviour and the adoption of change
Knowledge of the NSW rural primary health care industry including challenges and opportunities (Desirable)
