Lead Project Drafter Bim Air Conditioning And Mechanical Building Services

Our client is at the forefront of the construction and engineering industries in Australia, leveraging innovative Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) technologies to deliver Bluechip Australian projects.  Right now, the National VDC team is going through a significant growth period, and we are partnered in a targeted recruitment drive to expand their national group and secure the industries best talent to join the 60 + strong national VDC team.
  
Reporting directly to the relevant state VDC Manager our client is seeking a Lead Project Draftsperson in each state QLD/NSW/VIC.  Vacancies exists in all 3 states and both local applicants and those considering relocating are encouraged to apply.
  
The Role;
This role is responsible for coordinating and implementing Mechanical Services Drafting for assigned Projects.  You will be involved in the development of information rich models and other BIM specific requirements in accordance with the Project BIM execution plan.
  
Your mission in this role is to assist in the company VDC vision and streamline the creation of industry leading BIM content through a national approach and harness the information it contains to optimally enhance operations and serve clients.
  
You will be part of a fully integrated 60+ strong team across the group’s office providing a range of BIM, shop Drawing and BIM-to-Field services. 
  
What we are looking for;
  

• 8 + years industry related drafting experience; producing accurate and detailed technical drawings and plans (Building Services, Mechanical Services, Air-conditioning) highly desirable is experience gained within the HVAC contracting industry  
• Strong understanding of Mechanical Systems (HVAC)
• Highly competent in BIM modelling with an expert level knowledge in BIM software such as Revit and Navisworks manage
• Knowledge of Australian codes and standards  
• Completion of an industry-based training course (Certificate IV in Drafting – Air Conditioning and Mechanical Services (In lieu of formal qualifications; equivalent industry experience)
• Leadership ability, analytical and problem solving skills, ability to identify design problems variations and improvement opportunities, people management skills, including the ability to mentor and motivate others
