Alfred Health Allied Health Services comprises a number of allied health disciplines who provide patient centred care across all clinical programs that operate at Alfred Health. Allied health disciplines provide patient centred care that will aim to optimise physical, psychosocial, communication and cognitive functioning. Home, Acute and Community (HAC) is a clinical program across Alfred Health. The program plays an integral role within Victoria's health care system, supporting people to maximise their health, independence and functioning, and minimise long-term care needs. The Home, Acute and Community program oversees a diverse group of services promoting effective seamless care, from acute care back into the community. Our Rehabilitation services are proactive and goal oriented. They target people with loss of function or ability from any cause, either congenital or acquired. Rehabilitation aims to improve function and prevent deterioration of function to bring about the highest possible level of independence - physical, psychological, social and economic. The Home Acute and Community Program is a state-wide provider of rehabilitation for patients following acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, multi-trauma and amputation.
Position Summary
Allied Health Project Lead, Spinal Unit, will play a pivotal role in informing the changes for allied health spinal rehabilitation model of care The Project Lead role will engage with key internal and external stakeholders to map current state, reference evidence based care, benchmark with peers and develop subsequent recommendations. The Project Lead will also work closely with staff and patients to ensure model of care is refined in line with the patient needs and consumer and staff feedback. The additional key deliverable of this role will be an evaluation framework which can be utilised on ongoing basis to ensure that the model continues to be agile and responsive to future changes in patient cohort characteristics.
Experience and Qualifications Required
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant Allied Health discipline
- Eligibility for registration or membership of the relevant professional body
- At least 7 years postgraduate experience with clinical experience in rehabilitation of spinal and/or neurological patients
- Relevant post-graduate qualification
- Proven experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of research and quality improvement
- Capacity to incorporate best practice into Allied Health services
