About this role: Project Management Advisor

Brunel Australasia is partnering with one of the worlds leading energy companies to source an experienced Project Management Advisor to work in their Melbourne CBD office.

This key role involves execution planning for major capital projects (>$500M) during the Select and Define stages and providing support and monitoring during the Execution phase. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional capable of mentoring and training less experienced personnel while ensuring best practices in Project Management execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute planning and support for major capital projects in Select and Define Stages.
  • Support and validate best practices in Project Management execution during the Execution phase.
  • Ensure project teams obtain necessary services to meet project objectives and strategies.
  • Oversee efficient project execution in accordance with expectations.
  • Manage interfaces between work groups and operations, especially in Decommissioning Projects.
  • Communicate opportunities and vulnerabilities associated with project execution, including yard capacity and capability concerns.
  • Participate in general interest activities applicable across all projects, such as enhancements, staffing studies, Independent Project Review (IPR) processes and plans, maintenance of selected work processes, special studies, etc.
  • Manage Interfaces between work groups and operations across all aspects of Decommissioning Projects.
What you need to bring:
  • BS/MS in Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in major capital projects within the oil and gas industry.
  • International project experience, with at least two overseas assignments.
  • Preferably, experience in a management level capacity on the Project Management Team for major capital projects.
  • Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective interaction with stakeholders including operations, co-ventures, and host government representatives.
  • Proficient in teaching and mentoring, sharing knowledge and experience effectively.
  • Expert proficiency in most Project Management skills, including execution planning, contracting/procurement, cost estimating, project controls, planning & scheduling, and organization design.
  • Experience in one or more technical disciplines such as Marine, Facilities, Subsea, Pipelines, Structures, etc.
  • Must be living in Melbourne and currently hold full Australian working rights.
