About our role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join the Project Management Office in our Medical Indemnity division. This function is a key enabler of the delivery of the division's business strategy and our value proposition to our members.
The purpose of the role is to plan, initiate and deliver a range of small to medium business projects. You will play a pivotal role in a range of projects including risk & compliance, efficiency, automation, process improvement (and much more) and support the maturing of our recently established PMO.
The nature of the projects will range from risk and compliance to efficiency and automation and process improvement initiatives. The role will provide opportunities to plan projects well, engage closely with stakeholders and partner with other teams across Avant to deliver good business change. This is an opportunity to make a valuable contribution to the organisation, working in a supportive environment with collaborative stakeholders.
The key responsibilities for this role are:
- Lead the definition of projects from initial concept through to business case approval in partnership with project sponsors
- Plan and deliver projects in line with the MI project delivery framework and the approved business case
- Proactively engage with stakeholders securing their input and support for projects
- Collaboratively lead cross functional teams to prioritise and deliver project activities
- Establish and run appropriate project governance and delivery forums
- Manage project scope, costs, benefits, timeline, resources, risks, issues and impacts
- Develop and maintain project workbooks including project plans, risk and issue registers, project budgets, project benefits and project closure documentation
- Build understanding of complex processes and systems, legislative and risk management obligations and member services and expectations and apply that knowledge to achieving project outcomes
- Previous experience managing small to medium projects to achieve business outcomes
- CAPM or equivalent qualification, PMP certification an advantage
- Experience working as part of a Project Management Office
- Extensive Project Management skills and experience with a strong focus on planning, execution against the plan and managing stakeholders, issues and risks
- Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills leading and managing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders; and
- The ability to coordinate the activities of a range of different people to ensure projects get delivered in line with the agreed timeline, scope and cost profile.
