DUTIES REQUIRED IN THIS ROLE:
- Design through to execution of civil projects related to general mine infrastructure
- Technically challenge the Engineering Consultant(s) to ensure lean, fit for purpose and safe engineering solutions without jeopardizing project progress
- Identification and standardisation of the appropriate engineering standards for the program scope to drive lean, fit for purpose and safe design
- Managing Internal engineering documents
- Work with key stakeholders to achieve project deliverables
- Identification of improvement initiatives to increase capital efficiency, productivity, and safety
- Safety in Design (SiD) processes management
- Organisation and management of technical governance and assurance processes;
- Management of engineering processes
- A minimum of 5 years of experience delivering civil projects within a brownfield open cut mining environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or relevant project management qualifications
- Strong focus on safety
- Previous experience working on mine infrastructure projects
- The ability to manage the engineering design process and prepare project deliverables including; scope of work, specifications, execution plans, cost estimates and schedule.
- Strong contractor management skills
- Experience in or familiarity with project/contractor management systems will be advantageous.
- Previous experience working in a matrix functional organization is highly desirable.
- Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills will be critical to success
This is an ongoing contract role with a leading mining owners side, based in the Mackay Coal Fields, on a generous hourly rate. Working on an attractive 4:4/4:2 OR 4:3 OR 5:2 OR 9 day fortnight, DIDO to the mine or FIFO with accommodation and meals provided.
