The role:
Reporting to the Director within Delivery Support Services, you will work closely with delivery teams, practice managers, support teams and subject matter experts to build the foundations for delivery excellence.
This project is part of a multi-year transformation to improve individual capability and organisational maturity in program and project management practice.
You will be instrumental in the development and implementation of a capability improvement plan to establish an environment that enables program and project delivery teams to be successful.
Your primary remit will be to drive business change management activities to ensure that new ways of working are embedded into business as usual, the required changes in operational practices and culture are achieved and, as a result, the expected benefits are realised.
Key responsibilities include:
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with QPS values as outlined above.
- Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe, services and workplaces.
- Oversee and manage the definition, documentation and successful completion of large scale, complex program/project(s) in line with Queensland Health project management methodologies.
- Promote and ensure the use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies, and tools, including benefits realisation and risk and issue management, to ensure quality project outcomes are delivered.
- Oversee and manage the monitoring and reporting of project related trends and performance against project plans and schedules.
- Manage project resources, expenses and capital costs against the project forecasts.
- Initiate, influence and maintain relationships with and between key internal and external stakeholders, facilitate effective communication channels to promote the successful adoption of change within the business, and foster relationships through lessons learned, feedback mechanisms and management of expectations.
- Manage capability and resource development by leading and mentoring multi-disciplinary project team(s).
Is this opportunity for you?
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Capability Uplift, organisational change management and/or business process re-engineering projects.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Proven experience in the delivery of large-scale complex IM/ICT program/project(s), preferably in the health care industry (SFIA Skill: PRMG: Level 6).
- Proven stakeholder relationship management skills to support effective business change, including the ability to initiate relationships and influence key stakeholders. (SFIA Skill: RLMT:Level 6).
- Expertise in, and application of, appropriate project management methodologies (preferably PRINCE2), and an ability to promote and provide advice on the use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies, and tools (SFIA Skill: METL: Level 5).
- Proven excellent negotiation, consultation, facilitation, and effective written and oral communication skills for use in a complex project environment. (NHS: Effective and strategic influencing).
- Proven experience in leading, managing and mentoring an effective multi-disciplinary team. (NHS: Leading change through people).
- Proven analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills and a proven ability to work in a team environment developing.
