The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, the Project Manager’s role is responsible for providing daily direction, instructions, and guidance to the allocated Field Team on long haul fibre optic cable projects. Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Provide oversight and governance for daily team operations ensuring compliance to key contractual SLA measures.
- Solid experience and understanding of project forecasting requirements.
- Procurement and negotiations with suppliers to obtain project targets.
- Run/attend client and supplier meetings to obtain project deliverables.
- Assisting tender / bid development and award.
- Manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams of project related internal teams, contractors & suppliers.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing challenges.
- Leading a Think Safe. Work Safe. Home Safe culture.
Essential Skills / Qualifications / Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role (within the Construction or Telecommunications Network – highly regarded)
- Experience with fibre ploughing works (desirable)
- Demonstrated experience in managing high performance teams
- Strong leadership skills, judgement and decision making
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to achieve the required deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to analyse, manage and mitigate risks and achieve consensus through negotiation and conflict resolution
- Understanding of Health & Safety requirements in the workplace, and how to monitor/reduce HSE risk
- Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite
- C Class Driving Licence
- Permanent work rights in Australia
- Ability to travel to other worksites and/or client premises as required
