Job description

  • Full time, 24-month contract opportunity based in Darwin or Alice Springs.
  • Indigenous Identified opportunity - open to Indigenous applicants only.
  • Salary range $80,871 to $87,870 (plus 15.4% super).
The Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the ATSI Act and subject to the PGPA Act. The ILSC assists Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to realise economic, social, cultural, and environmental benefits that the ownership and management of land, water and water related rights can bring. The ILSC provides this assistance through the acquisition and management of rights and interests in land, salt water and freshwater country.The ILSC has an opportunity for an enthusiastic Indigenous Project Officer to work within collaborative project teams. The Strategic Projects and Northern Strategic Projects teams are operational units within Central Division. The teams work on large scale, collaborative land management projects. Current initiatives focus on supporting employment, training and career development, enterprise development and delivery of social, cultural, and environmental benefits through management of land.Under the direction of the Manager Strategic Projects (Alice Springs) or Manager Northern Strategic Projects (Darwin), you will:
  • Work collaboratively with Indigenous organisations in the Northern Territory to support their ambitions to develop enterprises that deliver economic, social, cultural and environmental outcomes.
  • Under supervision support project administration through assistance with contract management tasks, proactive communication with partners, project monitoring and evaluation tasks, and preparation of reports.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and facilitate a collaborative approach to; maximise benefits to Indigenous organisations, enhance the Real Jobs and Savanna Fire Management Programs and extend the application of ILSC programs.
  • Work as an effective team member, member of the Divisional Office and wider ILSC, through fostering a cooperative, professional and positive work atmosphere.
