AU0176501-Jun-2024WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORAbout the TeamLocated in Redbank in Ipswich, the Project Quality Engineering team is responsible to ensure that product aligns to contractual requirements and specification.About the RoleThe Project Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the implementation of the assigned projects complies with the contractual, customer-specific, project-relevant and company-internal quality requirements for the products and the processes used. The PQE adapts and develops methods and tools of quality, derives essential test points and criteria and ensures that the defined measures are carried out.As Project Quality Engineer, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

  • Provide high level quality management support services to enable effective decision making and delivery of sound quality project outcomes;
  • Contribute to the development of relevant division and project staff induction and training material;
  • Guide project staff in the effective use of quality management systems and tools;
  • Support the development and implementation of a business management system (set minimum standard) as it relates to project and operational assurance requirements and processes;
  • Prepare Project Quality reports (around quality performance, KPI’s, risks and quality compliance) and attend relevant project meetings provide support and direction in assisting the project to meet and exceed Project Quality requirements;
  • Support project level management system review meetings, including business level reviews and customer reviews;
  • Evaluation of customer requirements and definition / deduction of Project Quality requirements in order to fulfil customer requirements;
  • Develop and maintain product specific quality plans, Inspection and Control Plans, Test & Inspection Plans, etc., as relevant and required;
  • Conduct and manage Failure Management, Deviation Management and Complaint Management across the projects assigned to;
  • Track the inspection, surveillance and records collation activities on individual vehicles and facilitate progressive assurance reviews with relevant stakeholders, including CoA representatives;
  • Conducting inspection and auditing to assure that an acceptable level of build quality is maintained/ achieved for the vehicles, including verifying and collating the content of the Vehicle Log Book and other such methods used to manage and demonstrate manufacturing quality;
  • Planning, coordination and conduction of acceptance tests (FAT/SAT);
  • Analyse quality, operational data, inspection reports and other performance data to identify quality improvement needs and systemic concerns;
  • Creation of quality requirements for supplier contracts/commissions;
  • Defining and managing project related overall measures for quality improvement;
  • Provide quality assurance support and guidance to Engineering, engaging in review points and verification activities in line with RDA processes and requirements; and
  • Fulfil other duties and responsibilities that may be required as determined with your manager from time to time.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (Degree in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or other Exact Science degree);
  • Recognised formal training in Quality (CQE, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, degree, etc.);
  • Trained in using advanced quality tools and techniques;
  • Work experience (at least 3 years) in quality assurance in comparable industry;
  • Comprehensive understanding of ISO 9000 family of standards;
  • Good developed stakeholder management skills and experience working with senior management, technical experts, etc. where customised solutions and a consultancy based approach are key;
  • Good IT knowledge, particularly of SAP QM;
  • Must currently hold or be eligible to gain the appropriate Australian Security Clearance; and
  • Ability to travel interstate and internationally when required. Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
