The Role 

Due to the continued growth in the team, we are seeking a Property Partner within our Facilities Workstream. We are seeking a commercially minded and collaborative individual. This is a permanent, full-time role based at our central office in Pennant Hills with expectations to travel to various schools across our Diocese.

Reporting to the Asset Manager and partnering with school leaders, you will manage various property projects from planning to implementation stages including repairs and maintenance and compliance. In accordance with Towards 2025, this role will contribute quality project delivery skills to ensure CSBB schools and office spaces reflect our commitment to offering contemporary learning environments that support student engagement and achievement. 

In addition, ensuring the reliability, safety and longevity of facilities will be measured by the Property Partner’s ability to cost-effectively manage significant maintenance and repairs work in CSBB schools and offices. Experience in, Repairs and Maintenance and Building Compliance is desired

This role will support internal and external stakeholders and will work collaboratively with peers in the same role and as part of a high performing and passionate Facilities and Procurement team. 

Key role responsibilities 

  • Supports the Facilities Workstream Lead in planning developments to meet school growth strategies and manage the design and delivery of staged programs of works whilst maintaining safe school operations.
  • Planning and Coordinating of Unplanned, Planned and Preventative Maintenance.
  • Coordination of Insurance Claims.  
  • Develops innovative and effective solutions for the design and delivery of minor Capital Works, (including repairs and maintenance).
  • Plans and manages the implementation of minor capital works safely, efficiently and satisfies budget, quality, and program expectations.  
  • Applies best practice principles to project management, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and/or legislation.  
  • Responds to and follows up all stakeholder queries, requests for maintenance and status of approved works in a timely manner.   
  • Undertakes school site visits to scope school needs, ensure the Principal is supported in managing property projects and external party requirements are met.  
  • Provides accurate reporting and documentation to meet deadlines pertaining to facilities work and longer-term projects.  
  • Manages stakeholder engagement, expectations and communication with local councils and authorities, schools and local communities to develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationships. 
  • Ensures the credentials of contractors are registered and secures references.  
  • Provides technical construction and project management advice to colleagues and prepares documentation to support potential works. 
  • Works collaboratively with peers in the Facilities and Procurement team to continuously improve design standards to meet ongoing CSBB operational needs. 
  • Provides advice as required and support preparatory work relating to NSW Catholic Block Grant Authority (CBGA) submissions. 
  • Assists in developing strategies to continually improve CSBB and schools' shared responsibilities to ensure school facilities are maintained to be safe and optimal learning and teaching environments adequate for the courses of study and student cohort numbers. 
  • Works within the team to ensure smooth transition of new assets for ongoing maintenance in accordance with relevant legislation and maintenance planning.

About You 

As the ideal candidate you will meet the following key requirements: 

  • Tertiary qualifications and demonstrated professional experience in Facilities management. 
  • Understanding of WHS legislation and regulations. 
  • Deep knowledge of the National Construction Code of Australia and other building industry regulatory requirements as applied to education. 
  • Knowledge of current educational facilities design and an appreciation of the link between contemporary pedagogy, space and community. 
  • Supportive of the ethos of the Catholic faith in an educational context. 
  • Demonstrates a well-developed knowledge and understanding of administration processes and project management principles.
  • Strong knowledge of financial processes to achieve value for money and minimise financial risk. 
  • Evidence of effective budgetary and risk management controls to deliver projects on time and within budget. 
  • Evidence of strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and Project Management Software, with practical understanding of Microsoft Excel including dealing with large data sets. 
  • NSW WorkCover White Card. 
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence (and own car required) as there is an expectation that travel is required at our Central Coast schools with travel costs reimbursed.

Salary: Circa $120K + super
