Job description

An exciting new role has been created to manage the recovery process for home claims, to ensure costs and losses are effectively and efficiently recovered. You will proactively investigate ways to maximise property recovery outcomes for RAA Insurance through effective negotiation of settlements and liaison with key stakeholders. In addition, you will:

  • Act as a subject matter expert and triage point for property recovery referrals
  • Engage in negotiations with responsible parties, such as individuals, contractors, or other insurance companies, to recover costs associated with home damages.
  • Gather and analyse all relevant documentation related to claims, including policy details, claim information, evidence of damages, and legal documents.
  • Maintain effective communication with members, claims adjusters, legal representatives, and other relevant parties throughout the recovery process.
  • Uphold high ethical standards in investigations and interactions with customers or stakeholders, maintaining confidentiality, and avoiding any bias in the recoveries process.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards including those regarding Financial Hardship and Complaint Management

For this role, we're also looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience in a Personal Lines Insurance Claims, Recoveries or similar role
  • Knowledge of recoveries practices and approaches including court procedures
  • Sound knowledge of General Insurance Codes of Practice, Privacy principles, Dispute resolution processes and relevant legislative requirements
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with a wide variety of key stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high level of analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Be an innovative thinker with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
