Alice Springs Hospital is an accredited modern 207-bed teaching hospital providing services to adult, aged and paediatric populations living in Alice Springs and surrounding regions, covering a vast catchment area of almost one million square kilometres.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a remote setting that will contribute to the continuum of patient care by managing, coordinating and providing a high quality, comprehensive and culturally appropriate prosthetic and orthotic services to adults and paediatric clients in an acute inpatient and outpatient setting. You will provide high quality clinical leadership, culturally appropriate prosthetic and orthotic expertise, and lead/support the prosthetic and orthotic team. You will also be involved in contributing to continuous quality improvement, departmental audits and coordinate and support clinician and technical supervision within the department. Occasional outreach visits to Tenant Creek Hospital will also be required.
You will possess relevant qualifications in prosthetics and orthotics that meets membership eligibility requirements of registration with the Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association (AOPA). You will have extensive acute clinical experience, demonstrated awareness of multicultural issues and their impact on clinical practice, and an ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
