Direct Focus Solutions (DFS) is a multidisciplinary practice providing allied health, disability and community supports, and an extensive range of clinical therapies. We are currently seeking an allied health professional to join our clinical team in Wollongong as a psychologist to provide high-quality therapy and supports for clients within the Illawarra.

About this role:
As a psychologist under Direct Focus Solutions, you will have the opportunity to join a growing multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals within the Illawarra. You will join a provider that has attracted a range of qualified practitioners across diverse fields such as psychology, occupational therapy, social work, behaviour support, speech pathology, and neurofeedback training. You will work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team to achieve best clinical practice at all times, support clients of all ages and expressions, and promote meaningful changes in their lives.
This role entails working with a diverse range of clients, including those who have experienced trauma and PTSD, across a number of settings such as homes, schools, community settings, and our Wollongong clinic. Our clinical team is committed to supporting each other to achieve registration and accreditation with a number of initiatives we support, including Victims Services, the Department of Veterans Affairs, Medicare, and the NDIS.
Our ideal candidate will:
- Be a talented clinician with experience in providing counselling and assessments to children and/or adults
- Be familiar with trauma-based clinical practice
- Have AHPRA registration
- Hold qualifications with approved degrees
- Have previous experience working with NDIS participants
- Have the ability to deliver positive Behaviour Support Practitioner outcomes through a strengths-based approach and as part of a multidisciplinary team (preferred but not mandatory)
- Be committed to the values and principles the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission Behaviour Support Capability Framework
- Have a demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Be passionate about helping people, innovative, ideas driven, and have proven experience in developing strategies and problem-solving solutions to improve the overall wellbeing and functioning of clients
- Be adept at communicating with clients and other stakeholders through both verbal and written means
- Produce highly professional reporting that is clear, succinct and goal directed and in a timely manner
