The organisation is a dedicated not-for-profit committed to supporting the developmental and emotional needs of neurodiverse children across NSW, ACT & VIC. The team provides comprehensive early intervention services and therapies to primary-aged children, both in a clinical setting and through community visits. Role Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychologist to join our team in Canberra. In this role, you will provide tailored psychological support and interventions to primary-aged neurodiverse children. You will work closely with families, educators, and other professionals to develop and implement effective therapy plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and evaluations of neurodiverse children to identify their individual needs.
- Develop and deliver evidence-based early intervention programs and therapeutic strategies.
- Provide one-on-one sessions in a clinical setting.
- Perform occasional community visits to support children in their home and school environments.
- Collaborate with families, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to create a cohesive support network.
- Monitor and document children's progress, adjusting intervention strategies as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in child psychology and neurodiversity.
Qualifications:
- Full or provisional AHPRA registration as a Psychologist.
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications in psychology.
- An interest and/or experience working with neurodiverse children.
- Strong understanding of early intervention strategies and therapeutic techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full Australian working rights.
- WWVP and national police check.
