Job description

An exciting opportunity exists for a psychologist to join our team in Psychology Services working in the north and/or north-west regions in Tasmania.

Tasmania offers a unique culture and lifestyle, with a strong sense of community and belonging. Say goodbye to lengthy commutes, and enjoy breath-taking coastlines, National Parks, and incredible fresh produce crafted by locals, all within a stone’s throw of your workplace. Our relatively small size enables you to develop a strong understanding of your patients and to see the difference you make in their lives but is still large enough to offer opportunities for career progression, diversity in work, and development of areas of specialisation. The slower paced lifestyle allows you to practice mindfully and to find meaning in your work. Our relative geographical isolation has led to a culture of innovation, resourcefulness, and collaboration, and you have the opportunity to be part of shaping the future of our healthcare system.

The Role:

Working within a multidisciplinary team, as the Tasmanian Community Paediatric Service (TCPS) psychologist, you will be providing evidence-based assessments and therapeutic interventions to paediatric outpatient patients in the north and/or north-west region of Tasmania.  TCPS provides specialised, coordinated multidisciplinary paediatric service providing care to children, young people, and their families across the state.

The role involves:

  • Working to support the development and safety of children 0-18 years.
  • Providing assessment and intervention to address developmental needs.
  • Working with a wide range of clinical populations, bringing diversity to the role and enabling rapid broadening of clinical knowledge and experience.
  • Liaising with community providers to link children and their families in with relevant services and supports.
  • Community travel as required.

Please get in touch to discuss this opportunity further and how this may fit with your career goals.
