Our private psychology practice in Leumeah, NSW, (near Campbelltown) was established over 15 years ago, with a team of dedicated psychologists focused on providing psychological assessment and treatment primarily to military and first responders (police, fire & ambulance) and their families. Each clinician has their own approach, with diversity highly valued within the team. We provide the space for people to work as they prefer, whether you are a quiet achiever or enjoy the company of your colleagues to lighten the day. Our focus is on providing a comfortable space for all. Our clients enjoy the down-to-earth approach of our service and the interaction with anyone on the team who walks past. They tend to get to know us well as a team and are comfortable having the odd joke with our admin team. Our admin team are have mastered the art of creating a welcoming experience for both clients and staff.
Qualifications & experience
- Must be registered with AHPRA
- SIRA registration or a willingness to get this (we are happy to help if needed).
- Must be willing to provide onsite services, though some work from home hours are possible.
- Experience or interest in working with emergency service personnel, current & ex-serving military personnel and their families.
- Good record-keeping and report writing skills are essential.
- Understanding of working in a private practice setting.
- Available to work 3 to 5 days.
- Must have knowledge of, and experience working with, trauma presentations.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations for first responders and military personnel.
- Provide evidence-based therapy to address a range of mental health concerns, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and stress-related disorders.
- Offer psychoeducation and support to clients' families and support networks.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and community organisations to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
