Working in the Public Affairs section of the Embassy, the Public Engagement Specialist is part of the Mission’s country wide exchange programs for Established Opinion Leader audiences. This includes individuals and organizations such as think tanks, professional associations, civil society organizations and academic institutions.
Duties
- Designs and recommends Public Diplomacy strategies.
- Builds and sustains productive dialogue to promote understanding and support for U.S Policy.
- Engages with Emerging Voices audiences, primarily youth, minorities, and others to influence Australian attitudes towards the U.S.
- Develops, coordinates, oversees and evaluates the impact of public diplomacy activities.
Skills and Experience
- Five years experience in multilingual, multicultural or multinational academic or Governmental work environment.
- Experience with Project Management, Communications or Education duties as a significant part of the job.
- University degree in International Relations, American or Intercultural studies, Communications, Political Science, Economics or local equivalent.
