Then you could be the perfect Public Sexual Health Nurse (CNS2) to join our service. Specifically, we’re looking for a qualified healthcare professional with current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia. Someone, with three years full-time clinical experience working in the related field and post graduate qualifications in the specialty, and Authorised Nurse Immuniser. Importantly, if you are an overseas resident with a temporary visa, please apply. This position will be open to you if no suitable Australian permanent resident or citizen is identified.

Here at Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network, The Clinical Nurse Specialist 2 (CNS2) offers a broad range of services for patients within the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network (the Network). These services include screening for blood borne viruses and sexually transmitted infections, management and treatment. Support with outbreak management and provision of immunisation for patients, and as required by Service Director Population Health. The position holder will work within the Network and Ministry of Health (MoH) policies, procedures and guidelines as well as Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) rules and regulations, as set out in the relevant legislation. The role and responsibilities are to be carried out in a manner that is consistent with Network delegations, policies, procedures and operations systems, and in line with both the NSW Health and Network Codes of Conduct.

Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.

Three years full-time clinical experience working in the related field and post graduate qualifications in the specialty, and Authorised Nurse Immuniser.

Demonstrated advanced knowledge and experience in management of patients with blood borne viruses, sexually transmissible infections, complex sexual health and/or hepatitis needs and proven skills in clinical teaching.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills, together with high level computer literacy and understanding of patient administration systems.

Demonstrated understanding of adult education principles and identification of the education needs of staff and patients.

Current NSW driver's license and the ability to travel within NSW to health centres as required.

Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the values of the Network.
