  • Maximum Term Full Time - 3 years
  • $91,222pa + super (up to 12%) + leave loading
Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 5 of EBA5 * 9 day fortnight
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, by negotiation, in line with business needs
  • Location: based at Strathpine with work across the region
About our opportunity
We have TWO NEW positions designed to respond to the increasing impacts of homelessness across our city.
Reporting to the Community Development Team Leader, you will work across the city to connect people experiencing homelessness with support services and respond to the impact of homelessness on communities and Council-controlled Public Spaces.
This role will see you working closely with our Community Development, Local Laws and Asset Maintenance teams in Council's response to homelessness. You will also partner closely with key government and community organisations.
While representing Council, you will promote the shared use of Public Space across the community.
About you
We are seeking candidates who have experience in building and maintaining positive relationships with diverse stakeholders including people experiencing homelessness, Government Departments, community services, businesses, and residents.
You will have a high level of self-awareness and ability to maintain a calm and professional approach when engaging with people that may feel aggrieved, become aggressive, and/or be experiencing mental and physical health concerns.
You will bring your problem-solving skills to respond to crisis using empathy and professionalism.
