Purchasing Manager
Jarvis Products is the World Leader in Meat Processing equipment, with an established & dedicated team driving our Australian operation. We are seeking a Purchasing Manager to join our team based in Richlands, Brisbane.
In the role of Purchasing Manager, you will work with internal and external stakeholders to perform all aspects of purchasing, procurement, and inventory management. You will manage inventory levels to maintain stock levels and coordinate the placement and logistics of orders from our suppliers to ensure we can continue to best serve our customers.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Review, maintain and update inventory levels;
- Manage end to end purchasing from our domestic & international suppliers;
- Coordinate logistics with freight forwarders and transport companies for inward and outward shipments;
- Be the lead on a regular cycle count process and stocktake;
- Leading a small team of warehouse staff;
- Ensuring customer requirements are met;
- Regular reporting on excessive and obsolete stock levels;
- Responsible for the maintenance of inventory and supplier records in our ERP system (Syteline), comprising daily goods receiving, supplier invoicing approval and resolution of supplier account discrepancies;
Key Selection Criteria
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar position – experience within a Manufacturing entity desirable but not essential;
- Demonstrated previous experience in purchasing and inventory control;
- Experience with modern ERP systems essential, with Syteline experience considered extremely favourably;
- Strong analytical skills with a high attention to accuracy and detail;
- Great written & verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
- Confidence to problem solve using own initiative;
- High levels of computer literacy with Outlook, Word, Excel etc;
