This role has no accommodation supplied. The successful candidate will either need to reside in the Mackay region or obtain their own accommodation for the duration of employment.
About the role:
To provide technical advice, quality compliance audits, field inspections with internal/external Protective Coatings stakeholders and support with the calibration and control of QA/QC instrumentation and documentation.
The key responsibilities will be:
- Lead, compile and report on quality related failure specific to protective coating treatment issues.
- Participate in safety related investigations (where requested by line manager).
- Participate in Scope of Work walkovers with stakeholders for technical input/advice (where requested).
- Facilitate a weekly QA/QC meeting with ONS and OFS Teams.
- Undertake weekly QA field audits on coatings for validation of batch certificates/numbers.
- Deliver daily QC inspections to repair occurring across ONS and OFS field-based locations at DBCT P/L.
- Represent DBCT P/L with Engineering Projects and Rotable Spares ITP Hold Points at vendor’s facilities in Mackay.
- Provide ownership of DBCT P/Ls ITP process, QA documentation and feedback loop to Managers and related Stakeholders for historical reference.
- Reporting – preventative, proactive and reactive findings related to QA non-conformances to nominated roles including the PCSM Superintendents, Engineers, Managers and Supervisors.
- Monitoring of paint and garnet related product QA from manufacturing for changes or departures to product datasheet content.
- Provide technical advice and support with introducing and testing equipment, instrumentation and alternate protective coatings and corrosion inhibitor products.
- Coaching and mentoring of new trades to site for upskilling to meet site specifications
- Support with Verification of Competency test with new starters.
- Lead QA related document control reviews to ensure activity-based risks to DBCT P/L are managed.
ABOUT YOU:
Successful candidates will require the following experience/ qualifications:
- Trade qualified/Applicator qualification or tertiary education in a related field (essential)
- Minimum 10 years Protective Coating experience, 5 years in a similar QA/QC role
- NACE Level 2 minimum qualification (essential); NACE 3 preferred (desirable)
- Cert 4 Training & Assessment or similar (desirable)
- Intermediate PC User skills – Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in writing technical QA/QC reports
- Current Working at Heights and Confined Space qualifications
- EWP licence will be highly regarded
- Current ‘Work Safely in the Construction Industry Card’
- Drivers ‘C’ licence is highly desirable Experience:
- Electronic and hand-held QA instrumentation, kits and software
- Interpretation and application of technical document including specifications and safety6 work procedures to deliver positive QA and safety outcomes
- CMMS or Quality Management Systems
- Ability to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
